The Erie to Pittsburgh Trail project began in 2005

Introduction

The Erie to Pittsburgh Trail is a project in development to connect Erie and Pittsburgh with hundreds of miles of trail, to further the quality of life and economic development of Western Pennsylvania. There are two sections of the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail going through Erie County, the Corry Greenway Junction Trail north of Corry the developing Erie to Corry Trail connecting the City of Erie to the South County.

Mile Zero in Erie is marked at Dobbin’s Landing, with a corresponding medallion at Point State Park in Pittsburgh. This is a project to connect people and communities across our region. We are excited to give updates on the project as they emerge, especially developments on the Erie to Corry segment to connect Erie County.

French Creek Trailhead

Ground broke for the Erie to Corry segment in Union City with the installation of the French Creek trailhead at Devereaux/Caflisch Park in September 2024, with a custom bike rack showcasing Union City’s history as a center of furniture production. It will also serve the municipal French Creek Trail Plan, in alignment the EACOG’s principles of cooperation to enhance public services.
