Wintergreen Gorge,a 3,980-feet long, 250-feet deep natural wonder in Harborcreek Township, was carved from shale and sandstone by Fourmile Creek during the end of the Ice Age more than 11,000 years ago.
The purpose of this project is to inventory and catalog the flora and fauna of the gorge so that it can be used for environmental education programming and provide general public awareness of the rich resources located within the Wintergreen Gorge.
